FlexPath Prep Plan

For this assessment, you will create a personal FlexPath Prep Plan.

Remember that this plan is truly for you. Creating it will help you:  Recognize the knowledge, skills, and strengths you bring to your FlexPath experience.  Think about what you may need to change to succeed in FlexPath.  Create a realistic plan for fitting FlexPath course work into your life.  Prepare for your first meeting with your FlexPath coach.  Begin your first academic course feeling prepared.

For each question below, think about what you know about yourself and consider what you have learned in orientation. Use this document and fill in the spaces. Answer each question as completely as possible, using complete sentences. You should be able to write at least 3–4 well- constructed sentences for each bullet point.

 Now that you have been through FlexPath orientation, what seems new and different about the FlexPath model, and what adjustments will you need to make to be successful in this model? o Are there things about the FlexPath model that may be a challenge for you, or that make you apprehensive?

 How will you schedule time in your already-busy life to complete the assessments and be successful in FlexPath? o What things might possibly interfere with your schedule and how will you address them?

I am not new to taking classes online. I have use blackboard in the past and with FlexPath, target dates and not being graded on a Letter scale is different. I also noticed that there are no discussion board requirements. This allows us, the students, the ability and time to complete the course without the pressure of trying to meet difficult discussion requirements

I work full time 5 days a week. I plan on completing assignments on my days off and/or after work. I work the 7-3p shift, so there are times I get home and find myself being exhausted. Fatigue can easily become an interference for me. How I decide to combat that is by taking a nap for allotted amount of time then wake up and being my classwork. I know that I cannot retain any information when I am tired. As long as I get 2 hours of sleep, I can accomplish my goals each week.

I recently completed my Associates degree in the midst of a pandemic, while working as a Frontline Health Care worker. I am also familiar with the online degree format.

The most important factors to me in choosing the FlexPath program was the time to completion and cost of savings. These factors will help me stay on track at my own pace while saving money.

My FlexPath Coach and FlexPath Faculty are the individuals I will go to when I need assistance with my course work, assignments and/or program. The writing center is available to me when it comes to form my writing assignments. They are there to help me with formatting and reviewing my work before submission. The library has so many resources that can help with assignments. My progress tracker keeps me on schedule with my course work and reminds me of my goals for the week. My academic Plan is there so that I can be on top of where I am in my program and what needs to get done in the time I set forth.
